V.K. MALIK

Senior Partner & Chairman – Leading Litigation Expert in India

Mr. V.K. Malik, the senior-most partner of the firm, brings over 42 years of unparralleled ligitation experience. A Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Delhi University and an LLB. from ILS Law College, Pune, he has successfully handled landmark cases across civil, criminal, commercial and constitutional jurisdictions before Tribunals, Disctrict Courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. 
 

Beginning his legal journey under the guidance of his father, Late Shri R.K. Malik (Special Prosecutor, Enforcement Directorate), in the 1980s, Mr. Malik has since represented Delhi Police in the Delhi High Court (2001–2007) and was appointed Special Prosecutor for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He also served as an Arbitrator with the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) from 2019–2021.  

Mr. Malik has represented multinational corporations, banks, insurance companies, and NRI clients in high-stakes disputes involving commercial litigation, constitutional matters, white-collar crimes, property disputes, and arbitration matters. He has frequently been appointed as an Official Arbitrator by the Delhi High Court, reinforcing his credibility as a trusted dispute-resolution expert.

He has been empanelled with several prestigious organisations, including Citibank, Oriental Insurance, New India Insurance, National Insurance Company, United India Insurance, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Vimhans Hospital, and major corporate entities such as West India Falia Separators (Germany) and Jagson Airlines.

 
RAHUL MALIK

Advocate – Specialising in Civil, Commercial & Constitutional Litigation

Rahul has extensive experience conducting civil and criminal trials, recovery matters, property disputes, service matters, intellectual property cases, and writ petitions. He began his career at the prestigious chambers of the Additional Solicitor General of India, where he worked on matters of national importance, including the SIMI Ban Case, the Haj Committee Dispute, Indian Railways Tender Litigation, the 2G Telecom Case, aviation and airport frisking disputes, and questions relating to cross-border corporate rights under the writ jurisdiction of Indian courts.

Since establishing an independent practice in 2013, Rahul has successfully represented clients in a wide array of high-stakes and complex disputes. His work includes major commercial disputes, such as those between Baker Oil Tools and Bakshi Steel, as well as contempt proceedings against Supertech for recovery of substantial sums. He has secured significant orders in Arbitration Appeals before the Delhi High Court, and obtained directions for framing appropriate rules for effective implementation of the Noise Pollution Rules and framing of regulations by directions from the National Green Tribunal.

Rahul has also obtained protective orders against forced evacuation of Yamuna floodplains, litigated matters involving illegal sand mining, and mounted a challenge to the constitutional validity of the BCCI and its governance structure. He has secured interim protection against the rigours of the Tenth Schedule (anti-defection law), contested disputes pertaining to electoral rolls, and handled builder–buyer conflicts.

His practice further spans jurisdictional challenges under the Commercial Courts Act, securing bail under the SC/ST Act, and obtaining release of an accused based on the half-sentence undergone doctrine. He has handled taxation disputes with the MCD, including obtaining a stay against erroneous PTR assessments, as well as representing clients in defamation cases, rent revision matters, murder appeals, and quashing of charges under the Arms Act.

Rahul has represented clients in major insolvency proceedings against entities such as Emaar, SRS, and Omaxe, successfully recovered property wrongfully held by a tenant for over 35 years, and prosecuted claims of medical negligence against R.G. Stone. He has led commercial litigation against Indiabulls, challenged the validity of circulars issued by MCX and SEBI, and contested the recruitment rules of the Delhi Police, as well as disputes involving the Delhi Cooperative Society Bank. His experience also includes multiple land disputes and a wide spectrum of other civil and commercial litigation.

Rahul’s practice is marked by a reputation for strategic advocacy, meticulous preparation, and an ability to navigate complex factual matrices across jurisdictions. He routinely appears before the Delhi High Court, various district courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial bodies, securing reliefs in matters involving land acquisition, contractual enforcement, regulatory compliance, and statutory interpretation. His advisory work spans infrastructure projects, corporate governance, arbitration strategy, media litigation, administrative law, and constitutional challenges.
